Create your own stunning mosaic vase, candelshelter, or lamp!

There is nothing quite like a colourful glass on glass mosaic! In this intermediate workshop (accommodations can be made for beginners), learn how make glass on glass mosaics on a curved surface while creating a beautiful home accessory, taught by mosaic pro Margo Anton.
The weekend will start with a brief lecture on how to design and plan your glass on glass mosaic, including the art of chosing your colours. We will be working mainly with stained glass, though other glass tile will also be used. The tricks of working on a curve will be taught, any necessary cutting techniques will be demonstrated, and then you’ll dive right into mosaicking your glass mosaic! While you work, you’ll be given lots of guidance, tips, and one-on-one help as needed to created your project.
This workshop will not cover grouting your mosaic. If you are familiar with grouting, you may grout at home, come to open studio at Kemporium to grout, or otherwise your lamp will stay at the studio to be grouted for you. Arrangements for pick up will be made. A grouting day may also be discussed during class.
Students in this class will be provided with all materials and tools to create their glass on glass mosaic. Please discuss what you might like to mosaic (vase, candle shelter, lamp) with Kemporium Art Space. You are also welcome to bring your own glass object to mosaic, subject to approval. If overly large, materials fee may change. Please bring wheeled mosaic cutters if you have them, or any other glass tools you have.
